To add a sidebar to your blog page, navigate to Appearance > Customize > Blog and choose Layout 2 for the Blog Layout, this one comes with a sidebar.
To add widgets to the blog sidebar, navigate to Appearance > Widgets and start dragging widgets inside the “Sidebar” widget area.
